The mysterious case of Thoams and the dislocated thumb!

Thomas will only get happily out of bed if there are pancakes for breakfast. So I usually make some at the weekend and freeze them, then defrost 2 in the microwave for him for breakfast. I then go and wake him up and he goes down to the kitchen to eat. He doesn´t talk to anyone before breakfast and I leave him alone till he has finished.
Anyway, that is how it happened that on Monday morning Sam calls out, "mum, Thomas has done something to his hand!"
On closer inspection the thumb on his left hand, ( he is left-handed ) was very swollen, totally at a weird angle and not usable.
I investigated carefully and the whole thing was out of place so I carefully popped it back into it´s socket and then we were off to the hospital.
Nothing broken just dislocated. He was told he could go to school but not to use his thumb for 3 days. They didn´t even bandage it up.
The scary thing is that we have no idea how he did it and he never complained of any pain, not even when I popped it back into place, he was more upset that he couldn´t eat his breakfast!

Of course he didn´t rest it and came home from school 2 days in a row with it still very swollen and hot. He even had plasticine under the thumbnail, so I dread to think what he had been doing all day. I had to bandage the whole hand like it was in a mitten, but without a thumb and then I had him place his hand across his chest and wrapped him in a huge elastic bandage so he couldn´t even move the hand. He wasn´t impressed but it worked.
What will he get into next? I dread to think!!!!!
